The Newport Visual Arts Center is located on the Nye Beach Turnaround overlooking the ocean at 777 NW Beach Drive. Managed by Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, the Visual Arts Center (VAC) has two galleries and classrooms overlooking the ocean. Historic Nye Beach is the “Art Heart” of Newport, a quaint neighborhood of shops, restaurants, galleries, lodging and the Newport Performing Art Center.
Lodging accommodations range from bunkhouse style to motels, Bed and Breakfasts, condos and oceanfront rooms and suites. There are camping facilities close by at the state parks and RV parks. Some establishments offer discounts to VAC workshop attendees. There are more than ten restaurants located within a ten block area. Fare varies from local seafood and clam chowder to Irish, Italian, and other delicious menus. Nye Beach has many lovely shops and several galleries within walking distance of the VAC, and miles of beach.

The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) manages two facilities in Newport, the Performing Arts Center (PAC) and Visual Arts Center (VAC), in keeping with its mission, which is to celebrate, promote and develop community arts. Both facilities are available for rental engagement; call for details.
