The Newport Symphony Orchestra at the Ocean conducted by Adam Flatt with guest artist Amy Yang, piano, perform music of Clara Schumann, Lili Boulanger, Claude Debussy, Sergei Prokofiev, and George Gershwin.
Maestro Flatt writes, “Two female masters, Clara Schumann and Lili Boulanger, grace this program. Though their works may not be familiar, I know (from my own experience) that after today you will want to hear much more of each of these women's works. Schumann's lyricism, fire, and drama are stunning, as is Boulanger's exquisite and lively music.”
There will be a pre-concert talk with Maestro Flatt at 6:45pm, Saturday night only. Join the NSO musicians, guest artist, and conductor after the concert for a reception hosted by Flying Dutchman Winery.
The NSO 2018-19 Season is presented by Georgia-Pacific.
