Students participating in Shakespeare Camp this year will perform an abridged production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Shakespearean scholar Rod Molzahn instructs the students, and directs and costumes this production. Molzahn brings many years as a Shakespearean scholar and his own acting skills in the persona of Shakespeare to both the production and a community function, "Dinner With Will."
Auditions for parts will be held in May. Dates for Shakespeare Camp are July 1-13. Performances are set for 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at the Newport Performing Arts Center; donations to support the camps are welcome.
A limited number of scholarships are available. Registration forms and more information are available by calling Catherine Rickbone at 541-574-2652; by email, from firstname.lastname@example.org; or at the OCCA office at the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 W. Olive Street in Newport.
