Rising Tide Productions is looking for three male actors for its upcoming production "Orphans," written by by Lyle Kessler and directed by George Dzundza. "Orphans" is scheduled for performance August 17 through September 2, at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, at the North County Recreation District Theater in Nehalem.
Auditions will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 at Netarts Fire Hall, 1235 5th St Loop W, Netarts. Roles include Phillip, in his twenties, innocent and childlike; his brother, Treat, around 30, protective, violent, a control freak; and Harold, a well-dressed older man in his fifties, calm under pressure, quick-witted, but giving the impression that violence may lie beneath the surface of this calm exterior.
Rising Tide asks that prospective actors prepare a monologue; audition sides from the play will be available for those who don't have time.
Be advised that the process takes a long time; rehearsals start in March, once or twice a week, then ramping up in frequency and intensity beginning July 2.
Rising Tide also seeks volunteers for the backstage crew for "Orphans"; please contact Sue Meyers Neuer at email@example.com or Mary Hanthorn at firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com or 503-842-5406 for more information.
