Thomas Lauderdale, founder of Portland's "little orchestra" Pink Martini, will be joined by acclaimed pianist Hunter Noack, conductor Adam Flatt, and the NSO for a performance of George Gershwin's jazzy masterpiece "Rhapsody in Blue" in its rarely heard two-piano version. Lauderdale and Noack will also perform Gottschalk's flashy showpiece, the "Grande Tarantelle". There is no more intimate space than the 328-seat Alice Silverman Theater with its state-of-the-art acoustics, each seat with perfect view and wrapped in glorious sound.
