NSO with Adam Flatt conducting
Coriolan Overture, Beethoven
Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Beethoven
Violin Concerto in D Major, Beethoven - Bella Hristova, violin
Beethoven is worthy of a stand-alone program not because he is such a monumental figure in our art, but because of the variety present in his masterpieces. In this program we have a stormy and dramatic overture, a strikingly bold and yet sunny-smiling symphony, and a broad and lyric concerto. The Violin Concerto is a demanding mountain to climb, and requires the utmost of musicality in experssion. It is a privilege to explore these different works of Beethoven and to share them with our listeners.
Saturday only! Pre-concert talk with Maestro Flatt at 6:45 pm.
NSO's 2016-17 Season is sponsored by Georgia-Pacific.
