You've got a story, a topic of interest, an observation, a memory and, best of all, a completely distinctive point of view—yours. In this workshop we will explore ways convert the messiness of life into an essay that impacts readers with the same vigor and vitality as our lived experiences have affected us. Our essays will work to connect a truth we discover about ourselves with a larger truth. We will discuss literary tools such as voice, structure, scenic details, characters and narrative persona We’ll read a variety of writers and have time to share our work.
