Using techniques of etching and drypoint, students will explore how they visually define their environment and the memories associated with places. By studying maps and other ephemera and through discussion and demonstrations, students will have the option to experiment with multiple plate printing, chine collé, as well as other printing methods, to create their own etchings with their unique sense of place. Emphasis will be placed on experimentation during the printing process with ample class time to create monoprints or an edition.
