August 6 & 7 reception from 11:am-5:00pm with open hours Wed.-Sun. Noon to 4:00pm each month. At the heart of the museum is the Permanent Collection of Art. A rotation of 5 paintings on one wall shows the variety and eye catching work of 5 artists. The Yaquina Traveling Exhibit takes the museum visitor on tour of the nearby watershed through the display of 25 oil paintings and supportive materials give explanations of the sites. This exhibit is readying for a first tour. A promotional DVD of the exhibit is being made by the Toledo High School Media class. Visitors are invited to visit the Museum Gift selection of art books (new and slightly used); CD's of the Back Street Driver's by beloved artist Rick Bartow; hand-crafted semi-precious stone jewelry by Sondra and a great selection of cards and mugs of the Yaquina Traveling Exhibit images. The 1887 Old School House is free admission to the public and has regular open hours Wed.-Sunday from noon to 4:00pm.

His subjects include the landscape, sea, and some but not always architectural features. "Rose Cottage" evokes memories of English thatched roof cottages with entries surrounded in flowers, in this case red and white roses. Gibbons has spent time in England and Ireland painting. He reminisces through his painting "Rose Cottage" in a scene of warmth and timeless beauty. A self-taught painter born in Portland, Oregon, Michael Gibbons work has been shown abroad and in many solo shows in the USA. Selected Awards include Quick Draw winner, Laguna Art Museum; Stobart Foundation Award, Mystic, CT; and OPA Award of Excellence, Chicago, Illinois.
At Impressions Pacific during the First Weekend Art in Toledo, August 6 & 7, the photography of Angela Lehrbass will be featured with her photo of a local fishing vessel titled “Sylvia”. Additionally, beautiful original watercolor and oil paintings, ceramics, local photography, and handcrafted wood items are on display. All artwork is by local artists. While you’re there, be sure to look through the many selections of framing options in their custom framing area. 2016 Maritime Art Exhibition with Ivan Kelly who has been a "Signature Member" of ASMA since 2000 and currently has two oil paintings "February Surf" and "Heading Out, Winter Morning" entered into 23rd annual Maritime Art Exhibit at Coos Bay Art Museum through August. Becky Miller is showing several of her kelp paintings at Twisted Snout Brewery, located at 300 S. Main St. Included in the show are three of her large 36″x48″ paintings, which uniquely combine abstract design with photo realism for an engaging and imaginative viewing experience.
