Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents Summer Theater Camp for students age 9 years old and older. Theatre Camp dates are July 18-29.
Theatre Camp students learn about the theatre and write and produce their own production. Students perform all aspects of the production including costuming, technical aspects, and staging. Within a two-week time frame, students work together to produce a performance staged the second Thursday of the session.
Youth work under the direction of lead instructors and college age returning participants who act as lead counselors. Counselors and Counselors in Training also come from the ranks. Many older participants have attended theatre camp every year since they have been 9 years old.
Free performances are set for 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 28; donations to support the camps are welcome.
Registration forms and more information are available by calling Jan Eastman at 541-265-2787, or stopping at the OCCA office at the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 W. Olive St. Or email email@example.com, with “Theatre Camp” in the subject line.
