Event Description:

The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents “Photography on the Oregon Coast,” an exhibition of the Yaquina Art Association Photographers Group, in the Runyan Gallery at the Newport Visual Arts Center from April 1 to May 1. The exhibition will feature the work of approximately 20 photographers and include framed work as well photography on canvas and aluminum. At the opening reception visitors will have the opportunity to meet the local photographers.

Gallery visitors to the “Photography on the Oregon Coast” exhibit will be able to purchase their favorite works “off the wall,” and the public is invited to participate in the People's Choice award presented at the end of the exhibit.

“This exhibition will offer the best photography from the Oregon Coast, and beyond, printed on a variety of materials for your enjoyment,” says Ken Hartwell, YAA’s president.

The YAA Photographers Group meets the first and third Mondays of the month, 7pm at the VAC. They emphasize improving photography skills through programs, critique and competition. They present noted photographers who share presentations on wild flowers, birds, beginning photography workflow and light painting. Programs provide tips on post processing, framing and matting.

Each year the YAA Photographers Group participates in field trips around the area as well. The group invites interested community members to attend an upcoming meeting. For more information, contact the YAA by calling 541-265-5133 or emailing info@yaquinaart.org

The Runyan Gallery is open 11am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
