Event Description:

Puccini’s timeless verismo score is well served by an exceptional cast, led by Patricia Racette in the title role of the jealous diva, opposite Roberto Alagna as her lover, Cavaradossi. George Gagnidze is the villainous Scarpia.

Tosca is a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Teatro alla Scala, and is hosted anonymously at the local level. Download a synopsis at right (just under the map).

The Metropolitan Opera Live in HD series is made possible by a generous grant from the Neubauer Family Foundation. OCCA thanks the Jeannette B. Hofer Fund at the Oregon Community Foundation, the City of Newport, season benefactors Anonymous and Bill and JoAnn Barton, opera hosts, OCCA members and you who purchase tickets, for making this a reality. Thank you.
