Event Description:

Toledo Public Library is having a reception in honor of the dedication of The Storyteller by Karen Fitzgibbon.  The multi-media piece is a gift to the library from current Library Director Deborah Trusty and her husband Bob.  Fitzgibbon of Fikaa Design is a popular local artist whose work has been exhibited throughout the area including the Visual Arts Center.  Fitzgibbon is known for her multi-media, three dimensional figures using recycled and repurposed materials that range in size from six inches to over three feet tall.  The figures range from whimsical to spiritual, tribal to exotic.  The Storyteller is primarily described as whimsical but the other characteristics are echoed throughout the piece.  Trusty originally admired the piece three years ago long before her position as Library Director came about.   She believes that a library is the perfect location for the piece that features the storyteller sharing a reading from his little book.  Karen Candelario of Ozone Fine Art was instrumental in assisting Trusty to acquire the piece for the library.  The reception will be held  at the Toledo Public Library.
