Event Description:

Learn how to create metal etchings safely and sustainably in this printmaking workshop. Design, etch and print an original image on a copper plate using the latest contemporary non-toxic techniques and water-soluble inks. A variety of acrylic-based processes will be explored including line etch, aquatint, lift ground, drypoint and direct photo image transfer. Various resists will be presented to create a variety of unique marks and textures.


About the Instructor

Susan Lowedermilk creates artist’s books and limited edition prints in woodcut, wood engraving and etching. She has been teaching printmaking, artist’s books and graphic design at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon for over fifteen years. Her artist’s books are in many public collections worldwide and she is represented in galleries throughout the country.
