The Cannon Beach Arts Association (CBAA) will host its 11th annual Summer Art Camp at the Cannon Beach Elementary School. The program is designed so that there are classes to appeal to all age groups, preschoolers, school aged children and adults.
The CBAA's Summer Art Camp brings North Coast art professionals into the classroom for a week-long intensive that is both hands-on and fun. This year, there will also be a drop-in class, Canvas Creations with artist Sarah Lippold, for those who would like to participate but cannot attend the whole week.
The following classes will be from 10am-12pm daily. If You’re Happy and You Know it… Get Creative with Hannah Nebeker for preschoolers; African Safari with watercolor painter Ireta Sitts-Grabue (ages 5-8); Experimental Animal Sculptures with Andie Richardson (ages 4-8); Story Builders with mixed media artist Mary Bess Gloria (ages 9-12); Creative Jewelry Design with Cannon Beach artist, Andrea Mace (ages 9-adult); and Magic for Minors – Tricks are for Kids with magician Brett Willyard (ages 8-12).
In addition, the following classes will be held from 1pm-4pm daily. Bookbinding and Printmaking with Manzanita artist Barbara Temple-Ayres (ages 9-adult); Introduction to animation with Cannon Beach painter Dmitri Swain (ages 8-14); More that Just a Painting with encaustic artist Susan Simon (ages 12-adult) and Yarn Storming with Cannon Beach fiber artist, Jessica Sund.
The Cannon Beach Elementary School is located at 268 Beaver Street on the North end of Cannon Beach. Scholarships are available.
