In the spirit of the 1960s coffee house and the power of the singer-songwriter voice, the Lincoln City Cultural Center will present an evening with travelling troubadour Anne Waters. Waters will perform original songs from her CD, “The Voice I Listen To,” along with covers from the blues and folk songbook.
Waters’ exacting picking style harmonizes with her carefully orchestrated vocals, and is woven with stories from her travels around the world. She has worked with CBS music in Amsterdam, and played more recently in Quebec City, Mazatlan and Kauai, as well as in and around her home base in the interior of British Columbia.
“The Voice I Listen To” was recorded in Mazatlan by Jean-Michel Renaud, and is dedicated to “the awakening within.” It features heartfelt songs with titles like “Cold in Old Mazatlan,” “My Grandpa” and “Dignity’s Difficult Time.”
