Event Description:

The afternoon of the Academy Awards, the Portland Chamber Orchestra will perform scores from Oscar-nominated films. This wonderful concert will be hosted by movie music expert, Edmund Stone.

At the concert, the PCO will also honor legendary conductor, arranger and clarinetist, Norman Leyden. Several arrangements by Leyden - including the theme from Laura, "Colonel Bogey's March" and "Moon River" - will be performed. Singer Susannah Mars will also be featured. The concert will feature selections from cinema classics, including West Side Story, Bridge over the River Kwai, The Magnificent Seven, and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Music from more recent films will include Schindler's List, Cinema Paradiso, Star Trek and several James Bond films.
