The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) website features information on arts and culture workshops, in keeping with OCCA's service to the vibrant arts communities along the 363 miles of Oregon coastline.

Workshops are available at venues up and down the Oregon coast on numerous topics, including painting, folk art, music, ceramics, sculpture, paper arts, textile arts (weaving, dying, spinning), writing, photography, printmaking, woodcarving, jewelry-making, glass work, and gathering oral histories, among many others.

  • After-School Theatre Classes

    January 17th, 2019 to June 13rd, 2019

    Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, in partnership with Jennifer Hamilton, offers after school theatre classes for kids in grades 2 through 4. Classes are held 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Newport Performing Arts Center, and will culminate in a Share Day for friends and family. Spring session begins January 17; class size is limited.

  • Art Fridays: Spring 2019: Nye Beach Banners

    May 3rd, 2019 to May 17th, 2019

    In this three-part class, students create banners that become works of public art throughout the historic Nye Beach neighborhood (spring through fall). Students consider themes related to the ocean and Nye Beach, design a two-sided banner (incorporating text) and then execute the artwork on a canvas banner using acrylic paint, pencils and other markers. Students are required to take all three classes. Class presented in collaboration with the Nye Beach Banner Project and the Nye Beach Merchants Association.

  • Little PAC Players Summer Theater Camp

    July 29th, 2019 to August 2nd, 2019

    Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, in partnership with instructor Jennifer Hamilton, offers The Little PAC Players theater classes for five- to seven-year-old students from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 29 through Aug. 2.
