The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) website features information on arts and culture workshops, in keeping with OCCA's service to the vibrant arts communities along the 363 miles of Oregon coastline.

Workshops are available at venues up and down the Oregon coast on numerous topics, including painting, folk art, music, ceramics, sculpture, paper arts, textile arts (weaving, dying, spinning), writing, photography, printmaking, woodcarving, jewelry-making, glass work, and gathering oral histories, among many others.

  • Art Fridays Fall 2018 Session

    October 5th, 2018 to November 30th, 2018

    Eight-week session to focus on “Creating for the Stage;” classes run Oct. 5-Nov. 30 The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts is pleased to announce that Art Fridays, the popular youth-arts learning program at the Newport Visual Arts Center, returns for another eight-week fall session (October 5-November 30). The Arts Friday program offers hands-on visual arts learning geared toward middle-school students (ages 10-14). Each class is held on a Friday afternoon (3:45-5:45pm) in the VAC’s main classroom. Registration fees are $12 per class or $84 for the eight-week series (scholarships available).
