Music

As one of the primary performing arts, this website celebrates music in all its forms - from student-made to community-based and professional. Find events reflecting music of all styles - classical, chamber, medieval, vocal, jazz, rock, blues, roots, Celtic and more - played in a variety of ways - solo, duo, band, ensemble, group, symphony. Venues vary as well, from tiny corner cafes to huge auditoriums.

Individual music performances are posted as events and can be found in the event calendar. Contact information for music performances and classes can be found by viewing the individual events.

  • Minga! Benefit for Ollala Center

    August 22nd, 2018 to August 23rd, 2018

    Support the Olalla Center for Children and Families at "Minga!" – a program of dinner, Andean folk and Afro-Peruvian funk and jazz music and dance with Inka Jam, Chayag, and the Intuit Studio Dancers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, August 22 and 23 at the Newport Performing Arts Center.

  • Bossa PDX

    August 24th, 2018 to August 24th, 2018

    Led by pianist/vocalist Kerry Politzer, the Portland-based Bossa PDX performs lovingly transcribed arrangements of Gilberto Gil, Roberto Menescal, Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Joao Donato, and Tom Jobim compositions, among others. The group also plays a selection of upbeat Brazilian jazz tunes. Bossa PDX’s instrumentation includes vocals, piano, sax, flute, guitar, bass, and percussion.   • "Tango of the White Gardenia" world premiere

    September 8th, 2018 to September 8th, 2018

    The LCCC is proud to partner with Cascadia Concert Opera, to present the world premiere of the original tango opera, “Tango of the White Gardenia,” with music by Ethan Gans-Morse and libretto by Tiziana DellaRovere. The CCO will perform this compelling new chamber opera, in English, which weaves together humor, emotional depth and timely messages through the riveting music and dance of Argentine Tango. This production will include a quartet of piano, accordion, double bass and violin, and six dancers who mirror each of the vocalists. “Tango of the White Gardenia” will be performed twice on the LCCC stage before moving on to Florence, Portland, Astoria and Eugene.

  • Tunes in the Dunes Ukulele All-Star Concert

    September 20th, 2018 to September 20th, 2018

    Some of the best ukulele players in the world are coming to Lincoln City for the eighth annual Tunes in the Dunes retreat at Westwind camp on the Salmon River. Before the workshop begins, however, the instructors will be playing a benefit concert at the Lincoln City Cultural Center! Bring your own ukuleles and voices for the sing-a-longs, before and after the concert. It's an evening of joyful ukulele music, with all proceeds going to the Westwind Stewardship Group.
