The community of Siletz offers residents a beautiful public library with over 20,000 materials available for borrowing. There is a children’s room with movies and books for kids at all reading levels; a collection of books, music and movies by, for and about Native Americans; books in the following sections: New Releases, Young Adult, Large Print, Romance, Science Fiction, Western, Fiction and Non-Fiction; and magazines, newspapers, reference materials, audio books, music CDs, movies and television shows on VHS and DVD.
The library has access to 160,000 items through its membership in the Chinook Library Network, a cooperative of public and community college libraries. The Siletz Public Library also offers users a sophisticated interlibrary loan program. Using a database of over 10,000,000 items, book requests may extend to libraries throughout the United States.
For children, there is a charming room with play area, floor toys and train set as well as picture books, chapter books, juvenile fiction and non-fiction for kids at all reading levels. The library hosts a story hour every Friday at 11:00 a.m. and, during the summer, an outstanding Summer Reading Program with a full schedule of activities.
