With my landscape paintings, I strive to achieve the illusion of reality, using a minimum of detail, recreating the feeling of a particular place at a particular time and/or season. Viewers often describe my landscape paintings as "serene."
My sculptural pieces have little or no emotional content, in that they represent nature at the molecular or atomic level. With some sculptures, I make the complex look simple and with some, I make the simple look complex. And often, I use transparent materials to make the viewer think there's more—or less—to the object than one sees.
My abstract paintings, too, represent nature, but nature reduced to highly simplified arrangements of color and elemental shape.
