OCCA strengthens the arts by ensuring that the Oregon coast has a rich and vibrant arts community through support and promotion of arts organizations and individual artists.

  • Oregon Coastal Quilters Guild

    The Oregon Coastal Quilters Guild (OCQG) is a nonprofit organization of more than 200 quilt lovers throughout Lincoln County and beyond. They meet on the second Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall of Atonement Lutheran Church, 2315 N. Coast Highway, in Newport. Meetings feature a program, member “show and tell,” and involvement opportunities. Their annual quilt show is on the first Friday and Saturday of August at the Newport Recreation Center.   • TJ Hoofers Inc. / Dance! And All That Jazz!

    TJ Hoofers, Inc. and Dance! And All That Jazz! was established in 1978 and has grown to become one of the largest dance studios on the Oregon Coast. Located in Newport's historic roller rink, built in 1907, the studio offers classes to all ages in jazz, tap, ballet, creative dance (for 3- to 5-year-olds), hip hop, contemporary, choreography, poi spinning, Shape Up workouts, West African dance and ballroom.

  • Wallace Vickers Kaufman

    Wallace Kaufman conducts workshops and master classes in non-fiction, fiction, and poetry as well as presenting readings and lectures from his own work and experience. Since finishing Duke University Magna Cum Laude and taking his graduate degree at Oxford as a Marshall Scholar, he has taught writing at Duke and the University of North Carolina and served twice as writer-in-residence at Bucknell. At Woods Hole Marine Biology Laboratory he was a Science Writing Fellow. He has also founded several businesses, conducted economic surveys in Eastern Europe as communism dissolved, and now has a professional conflict mediation service.
