OCCA strengthens the arts by ensuring that the Oregon coast has a rich and vibrant arts community through support and promotion of arts organizations and individual artists.

This directory represents the coastal areas of Oregon, which include Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, Coos, and Curry counties and the coastal towns of Lane and Douglas counties.  OCCA is the regional arts council for this area. Learn more about OCCA's regional arts activities.

  • Nora Sherwood

    Nora is a science illustrator and wildlife artist living in Lincoln City. She holds a certification in Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington and is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators' Oregon chapter. She accepts commissions and shows her works in galleries on the coast and valley.

    An award-winning and versatile conductor, Ms. Olivia Tsui distinguished herself as the first woman Music Director in the 84 years of history of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra.   • Oregon Coast Recorder Society

    The Oregon Coast Recorder Society, the first chapter of the American Recorder Society in Oregon, was founded in 1992 by a small group of recorder enthusiasts on the central Oregon coast. The chapter currently has nineteen members, who come from communities all over western Lincoln County. Besides soprano, alto, tenor and bass recorders, the group also boasts viola da gamba, violin, cello, guitar and string bass plus a gemshorn or two.. Membership is open to all recorder players without audition. Rehearsals are Friday evenings at First Presbyterian in Newport except the second Friday of the month, when OCRS meets at St. Peter in Lincoln City.

  • Pacific Coast Wind Ensemble

    PCWE is a concert band composed of amateur and professional musicians living in Lincoln and coastal Lane counties. Membership in the band is open all to brass, reed and percussion players of high school age and above without audition. The band rehearses on Monday evenings throughout the academic year, alternating between Florence and Waldport.

    Living on the Oregon coast, Patricia Cink finds herself challenged to capture the colors of the varying coastal light as it reflects off the ocean, sand and rocks or filters through the lush forests. She uses watercolor on Yupo paper and soft pastels to immerse herself in the color of the landscape, letting the composition follow. Both media allow for continual modifications as the painting develops.
