OCCA strengthens the arts by ensuring that the Oregon coast has a rich and vibrant arts community through support and promotion of arts organizations and individual artists.

This directory represents the coastal areas of Oregon, which include Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, Coos, and Curry counties and the coastal towns of Lane and Douglas counties.  OCCA is the regional arts council for this area. Learn more about OCCA's regional arts activities.

She is currently the Executive Director of the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts.

    Kay has been an amateur rock hound for over 50+ years and enjoys documenting and sharing her knowledge through her pocket guides, her blog, Facebook and doing speaking engagements. She has been living in the Newport area for nearly 30 years and is still an active member of the Oregon Coast Agate Club though she has retired from FACETS Gem & Mineral Gallery after 26 years in the business. Her pocket guides are sold nationally as well as statewide.

  • Wallace Vickers Kaufman

    Wallace Kaufman’s essays, nonfiction, fiction, journalism, translations, and poetry have been widely published in the U.S. and abroad. Since finishing Duke University Magna Cum Laude and taking his graduate degree at Oxford as a Marshall Scholar, he has taught writing at Duke and the University of North Carolina and served twice as writer-in-residence at Bucknell. At Woods Hole Marine Biology Laboratory he was a Science Writing Fellow. He has also founded several businesses, conducted economic surveys in Eastern Europe as communism dissolved, and now has a professional conflict mediation service. His writing reflects the several professions he has pursued and his travel across America, in the remotest parts of Siberia, in Latin America, and throughout Central Asia. He lives and works where the forest meets the marsh and waters of a slough not far from Newport, Oregon.
